Emily Carter-Tivendale
Registered Provisional Psychologist
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist working with children (5+), adolescent, or adult clients on an individual basis. Theories that I often pull from are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), but I implement other modalities as it pertains to each client’s needs.
I believe therapy can be helpful for anyone, and I encourage you to connect if you are unsure where to start. Individuals may seek therapy for help with anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidal ideation, anger or behavioural problems, emotion regulation challenges, relationship or familial conflict, life transitions, or grief and bereavement. Starting therapy can be daunting and overwhelming and I work to join clients wherever they are in the therapeutic process. For my younger clients, this often means a heavy emphasis on relationship building in order to cultivate a friendly and safe environment where they can learn about their experiences of emotions and learn tools to help improve their wellbeing.
For more information, please feel free to contact me or take a look at my website emilycartertivendale.com. I also offer a free 15 minute consultation over the phone or in person.
My hourly rate for individual counselling is $210, in accordance with the current fee schedule recommended by the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. Fees are generally covered in whole, or in part, by extended health care insurance plans available through your employer, and individuals will receive a detailed receipt at the time of payment which can be submitted to their insurance provider for reimbursement. Please check the details of your plan to confirm coverage. Please inquire with me directly if you are in need of accessible counselling options
